Jack Russell Downtown Restaurant frontage

Jack Russell Brewery Downtown opened in Placerville in 2016. Upon hearing the Placerville Carrow’s building was up for lease, Jack Russell Farm Brewery owner David Coody decided to join forces with his best friend John Gardner to open a restaurant. They wanted to celebrate their love of craft beer and great food and create a gathering place for family, friends and travelers. David and John are both Placerville area locals, and graduates of Ponderosa High School.

Built on the site of the former Carrows, the building has seen its share of restaurants pass through it. David’s very first job as a teenager was working as a dishwasher in the restaurant he would eventually co-own. At that time it was V.I.P.s and the stainless steel sink David washed his first dish in is still being used today.

David moved on from that first job. He has become a brewer with a long and storied career in the greater Sacramento craft brewing scene. Brewing beer has become his passion and he is grateful to now be able to share that passion with others at both the restaurant and brewery location.
